FAQs

We are here to make your journey as smooth as possible. We have tried to answer as many questions as possible. If you still have any uncertainties please don't hesitate to contact us here. Contact

Can I bring my partner?

Only if they are a woman! And have a ticket. :)

Can my husband drop me off or stay in my accommodation

No men are allowed on the property, however they can drop you off at the gates! They will not be permitted to come onto the land.

Are children allowed to attend?

Breast feeding babies are allowed to attend as long as they cannot walk yet. Females 12yrs and older are warmly welcome. 

Can I bring my dog?

No animals of any kind are allowed.

What about rain and bugs?

YES! There will likely be both; please come prepared for both rain and bugs. Rain clothes, gumboots, umbrella, sandfly spray.

Is there WiFi at Paradise?

There is no wifi available and no cell coverage either. If you are staying onsite you will need to plan to be offline for the whole time. What a beautiful gift! 

Will there be somewhere I can charge my phone?

Yes we will provide one small charging station. Please bring your own plug and cables. 

What should I bring?

This is a rustic, rural, zero waste gathering. Please bring everything you need to make yourself comfortable. Layers, rain clothes, gumboots, pillows and rugs to sit on, camp chair if you require this to be comfortable. Plates, bowls, cutlery, cups. Sandfly spray, sunscreen etc Snack, waterbottle. 

Will there be food?

Day 1.) Afternoon herbal tea, healthy snacks and soup 

 

Day 2.) Nourishing Lunch, Afternoon Herbal Tea & healthy snacks

 

Day 3.) Nourishing Lunch, Afternoon Herbal  Tea & healthy snacks

 

Day 4.) Light Lunch 

 

If you know you require a lot of sustenance please be sure to bring snacks. We will not be serving coffee or black teas so if you know you need your caffeine hit please bring this for yourself. 

Do you cater for dietary restrictions? 

Our food will be lovingly consciously sourced and prepared. We will cater for Gluten Free, Vegan and Vegetarian restrictions. If you have any other requirements beyond this please be sure to cater for yourself. 

What's the trash situation?

This is a zero waste event. Please take out all your trash and bring only reusable crockery and cutlery. 

Will I have access to a kitchen or refrigeration?

Unless you have booked to stay in The Miller House, boutique accommodation there will be no access to a refrigerator. 

Are fires permitted?

No open fires are permitted onsite. This includes candles. 

What's the bathroom situation?

Paradise Trust is a unique heritage rustic location. Unless you have booked into The Miller House you will be using long drop or porta loo toilets. 

I have booked accommodation onsite. Can I drive to my hut?

Depending on which hut you have booked you can drive to your accommodation. This will be strictly on check in and check out only. There is no driving permitted during the gathering. If you think you will need to leave the site you must park in the public parking area after checking in. 

 

If you are staying at DART HUT, NOX HUT or DOLANS HUT THERE IS NO DRIVING TO YOUR HUT. You will have to be prepared to carry all your belongings in and out. 

I have booked accommodation onsite. What is my breakfast and dinner situation?

If you are staying onsite you will need to provide your own breakfast and dinners. Each accommodation has at least basic cooking facilities. Please follow you accommodation link to find out what they are. 

How do I get from the airport to Paradise?

It is a 1.5hr drive from Queenstown International Airport. If you do not have car please post on our Facebook Community page to arrange carpooling. 

Is there parking onsite?

Yes there is limited parking onsite so carpooling where possible would be very much appreciated.

I don’t have a 4x4 will my small car be ok on the dirt road?

Yes. The Paradise road is a well maintained dirt road with one small ford crossing. It is easily accessible in any vehicle. 

Will there be a shuttle?

At the moment we do not have a shuttle service. Please go to our community facebook page to arrange carpooling. 

Are single-day passes available?

No. 

What if I can’t come the whole time?

This is a 4 day journey curated to leave you feeling integrated and expanded. We require that everyone commits to being here for the full experience. We understand things might arise closer to the time that are unavoidable but please only purchase a ticket if you have the full intention to be here the whole time. 

Do you offer refunds?

No, but you are welcome to sell your ticket on to somebody else. 

Can I camp onsite?

No camping is permitted at Paradise. However you can camp at Diamond Lake DOC campsite 5 mins down the road. 

I missed out on the onsite accommodation. Where should I stay?

On our Accommodation page there are links to local accommodation options. 

Will there be drinking water?

Yes, there is unfiltered spring water. We also provide a washing station for your dishes. If you are sensitive to unfiltered spring water please bring your own water. 

Can I smoke?

There is no smoking or vaping allowed anywhere onsite. 

Are alcohol and other substances allowed?

This is a zero substance, zero alcohol event. Please refrain from bringing either of those onsite. 

What’s the exact location of the gathering?

What if I forget something? Is there a local store nearby?

There is a small general store in Glenorchy 20mins drive away. If you are staying onsite you must park in the public parking area if you need to drive in and out at any point in the gathering. We recommend you come full self sufficient. 

Is there somewhere to swim?

Yes! We have the beautiful glacial fresh Diamond Lake for those tempted by a cold water dip. 

I have booked accommodation onsite. Do I need to bring bedding?

Please follow the individual links provided and read carefully for each option as they vary greatly. The boutique Miller House accommodation has power, central heating and wood burners. Historic Cottages and Backcountry Huts are off the grid, which is no power.
